A remote and authentic ultra race deep in the Canadian wilderness

The 125 km Ultra-Trail Harricana of Canada™ is a linear course that weaves through the mountains, lakes, rivers, and boreal forests of the Charlevoix region. Most of the course is singletrack, often enmeshed with rocks and roots. For this reason, vigilance is required from start to finish. Although the beginning of the trail is technical and strenuous, there are a fair number of rolling sections. It makes for a challenging and rigorous course, however, also, entirely runnable.

The course summits four peaks. The first, Mount Lac-à-l’Empêche, then Mount Morios – which offers breathtaking views of the region -, followed by Mount Noyée – which has the profile of a woman floating on water -, and finally Montagne Noire (Black Mountain), which after the descent, marks the final stretch to the finish line at Grand-Fonds Mountain ski resort area.

Don’t underestimate the difficulty of this course. In fact, since it’s inception in 2016, only slightly more than half of the participants who toed the line managed to also cross the finish line.
