INNSBRUCK ALPINE TRAILRUN FESTIVAL – K42
THE TRACK: Since it is unfortunately not yet ensured that we can move back to the original venue at the Landestheater in 2022, we are currently assuming that we will once again host the IATF at the Olympiaworld. We are very happy for all K42 starters that you can once again enjoy this great trail marathon, which has received the best verdict from all runners in 2020 and 2021. After the start in Kranebitten the route goes slightly uphill at first, but still fast to Birgitz for the first aid. From now on it goes on a section of the route, which was actually only granted to the ultra distances. The long climb up to the Mutterer Alm is not only demanding, but with the Götzner Graben a real highlight – let’s hope that the winter does not leave too many traces here, and the section will be runnable. Look forward to the great view at the reservoir just before the aid station at the Mutterer Alm. Then it goes on the high trail around to the incredibly beautiful, technical and flowy downhill down to Telfes, where the next aid station is waiting for you. From now on it’s almost all downhill. First on the Stollensteig and later in the Sill Gorge, caution should always be exercised, especially on the narrow, technical sections. Between the two climbs, a final aid station awaits you on the ÖAMTC grounds. Afterwards, the only thing missing is the finish in Innsbruck. Smile and enjoy!
